Critique #2

For this assignment we were suppose to capture something that is meaning full to us.
I went up to my church and took a picture of this girl in the pumpkin patch, along with
the sign of my church. I chose this girl because I teach her how to swim. She has Cits
Fibrous. (CF) Along with being autistic. A year ago, she was not able to walk, or
sit up straight. In this picture the girl is sitting up straight, and with out being confined
to a wheel chair. With the help of me teaching her how to swim, and along with sign language,
she has been able to over come some of her difficulties. This little girl still has many more things
to learn as life goes on. With the help of physical therapy, and swim lessons, in a year and a half,
this little girl is able to be walking and sitting on her own. That is a big accomplishment.
She also knows sign language, in the matter of me teaching her. She was signing to her mother,
that is why she has a blank look on her face, and is looking up at her mother.
As for the church sign goes that is in the picture. That is my home church. I am very active, in the church, and my faith means a lot to me. The church is where I really discovered learning that I enjoy helping out kids who have special needs. Also in this picture, I hope one day I can be a teacher, and may end up teaching kids who have special needs, or either teach high school sign language. The pumpkins are in there because it was at the church pumpkin patch. When I see a pumpkin it reminds me to step back and give thanks for what I have, and be appreciative of the days I am able to go about living every day. This photo that I took had a lot of meaning in it. I am really glad that I choose this photo. Every time I look at, it makes me think of how just the little things in life like teaching a person sign lauague can really make a difference to helping this child learn how to swim, which in result turned out to be she is able to walk and sit up now. When looking at this photo it tell me that I have these skills and I should use them more to help others out.
